Three in a Row: Dukes Wins Champ Camp
Dukes LC won its third consecutive Champ Camp National Championship Sunday, defeating NH Tomahawks Purple, 10-1, in the tournament's 2008 championship game held on Homewood Field at Johns Hopkins University. Dukes becomes the second team to win three consectuive Champ Camp National Championships, joining Tri-State, which accomplished the feat from 1995-1997. Dukes has played in the last five Champ Camp National Championship games, finishing as the runner-up in 2004 and 2005.
Dukes defeated Team Headstrong, Smithtown, and Tri-State Black in the first three rounds of the playoffs, while NH Tomahawks Purple defeated Top Gun TP, Road Hawks Blue, and Team Washington in the playoffs. The pool play winners for each of the 16 divisions, were:
